CRA Account Access Guide

Registering for a CRA Account

A clear, step-by-step walkthrough to register for your Canada Revenue Agency account and grant your advisor access — so we can serve you better.

Sound Advice™ — Insuring Your Financial Journey

CRA is currently not accepting passports for identity verification.
Why It Helps

Why grant your advisor access?

When you authorize Marie Phillips as your representative on your CRA account, she can view the information needed to give you complete, well-rounded financial advice — saving you time and avoiding guesswork.

Accurate income verification

Marie can confirm your reported income and notice of assessment directly, so account applications, loan documentation, and coverage amounts are based on verified figures — not estimates or paper chasing.

Up-to-date contribution room

She can review your current RRSP deduction limit and TFSA contribution room, helping you maximize registered savings and avoid costly over-contribution penalties.

Faster, cleaner applications

With tax-return status and assessments on hand, Marie can complete paperwork, insurance applications, and investment documentation more quickly — and flag anything that needs your attention sooner.

You stay in control

Representative access is consent-based and revocable. You choose the level of access, and you can adjust or withdraw it at any time through your CRA account.

In short: granting Marie representative access means your wealth and insurance planning is built on your real numbers — so recommendations fit your actual situation, not a best guess. If you're ready, follow the steps below to register, then authorize her as a representative.

  • Pay by pre-authorized debit (create new agreement)
  • Change notification preferences

Authorize a Representative

Grant Marie access to view your MyCRA

Once your CRA account is set up, authorize Marie Phillips as a representative so she can securely view your tax information and advise you on your real numbers. It takes about five minutes — and you stay in control the whole time.

Go to MyCRA to begin
1

Sign in to My Account

Use the same sign-in method you set up during registration.

  • Go to canada.ca and sign in to My Account with your CRA user ID and password, or your Sign-In Partner
2

Open 'Authorize my representative'

This is the CRA service that lets you name someone to act on your behalf.

  • From the My Account homepage, go to Profile
  • Select 'Authorize my representative' (under Personal information)
3

Enter Marie's RepID

The RepID links your authorization to Marie specifically.

  • In the Representative information section, enter Marie Phillips' RepID: TX6TF7N
  • Leave the GroupID field blank unless our office has given you one
4

Choose your access level

You decide how much Marie can see and do.

  • Level 1 — View: Marie can see your tax information (balances, RRSP/TFSA room, notices of assessment)
  • Level 2 — Adjust: also lets Marie make changes and submit forms on your behalf
  • Most clients choose Level 1 (view only) — you can upgrade later if needed
5

Select the tax years

Choose how far back the authorization reaches.

  • Pick the tax years you want to authorize (current and prior years)
  • You can authorize all years if you'd like Marie to see your full history
6

Review and confirm

A final check before the authorization goes live.

  • Review the details, read and accept the terms, and submit
  • You'll see a confirmation — Marie is now authorized and can view your information in her Represent a Client portal

How Marie gets her RepID

Marie is registered in the CRA's Represent a Client service, which assigns her a unique RepID: TX6TF7N. Enter this exactly as shown during authorization. If you have any trouble, call our office at 905-648-2425 ext. 215.

You can revoke access anytime

Representative access is never permanent. To change or remove it, return to "Authorize my representative" in My Account and update or delete the authorization — the change takes effect immediately.

Prefer a paper form? You can also authorize Marie using CRA Form AUT-01 (Authorize/Cancel a Representative). Download it from canada.ca , complete and sign it, and send it to our office — we'll submit it to the CRA on your behalf.
